Buffer Time

All Collections Sessions Buffer Time

Buffer time is the optional time gap between your available booking slots. It ensures there’s a pause between consecutive sessions, allowing time for preparation, note-taking, breaks, or unexpected overruns.

Why Use Buffer Time?
Without a buffer, your sessions can be booked back-to-back. This might lead to fatigue or delays if one session runs long. Adding a buffer protects your time and ensures smoother transitions.

How It Works
When someone books a session, the system blocks out the session duration plus the buffer time afterward. This buffer is not shown as part of the session to the client, but it prevents another booking from starting immediately after.

For example:

  • Session length: 60 minutes

  • Buffer time: 15 minutes

  • Result: After a 1 PM–2 PM booking, the next available slot is 2:15 PM.

Setting Buffer Time
You can set buffer time in your individual session settings.

  • 0 = Sessions can be booked back-to-back

  • 15 = 15-minute pause between each session

  • Any other value = Your chosen number of minutes for spacing

Best Practices

  • Use 0 minutes if you want to maximize availability.

  • Use 15–30 minutes if you need transition time or want to avoid burnout.

  • Adjust buffer time based on session type (e.g., coaching vs. quick check-ins).
